Sakura
"
Hi there. Cherry blossoms have almost gone now, but I have a pleasure to come. Well, I’d been thinking whether or not going to the graduation ceremony at Cambridge on 12th May, but I have decided to go finally.
Hope I can see a lot of my classmates there.

Kamameshi at Tagoto
"
I had a decent Kamameshi, a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot, this evening. Kamameshi is usually soy sauce based, but the one I had today was salt based. That was really nice.
Although Asakusa is one of the most popular tourist destinations, it has some cool restaurant only known by the locals.

Golf practice

I have almost finished the school and ordered a club set. I am going to take a round lesson either on 21st or on 25th March, which is to be my first golf round.
Below are my orders. It’s a big investment…

With classmates at GONPACHI
"
Hi there.
I’d been leading a boring life recently, working overtime, reading books, playing Final Fantasy XII and so on… But yesterday it was a fantastic night receiving Arun from Cambridge. Some Japanese alumni and I had a drink with him at a Japanese style pub, called Gonpachi. Actually this is where Koizumi invited Bush several years ago.
The only thing I was disappointed at was my English. It seems I am losing English. Now I have difficulty in finding words and making sentences when I speak. Sounds like I need to start watching Star Trek Voyager again.
It was the happiest night in a few weeks, anyway.

Snowing Ginzan
"
It’s been a while since I last updated, I’ve been quite well, though.
I stayed Ginzan Onsen yesterday, a famous Onsen destination in Yamagata Japan. Ginzan is famous for several things. Firstly, it is one of the best places where you can enjoy Onsen in snow. It is an out-of-the-way place in the mountains, so it has heavy snow in winter. Unlike many other mountainside Onsens, Ginzan is not a ski resort. It is very quite and you can concentrate on the Onsen. Secondly, Oshin, a famous Japanese TV drama, was set around there. Oshin is undoubtedly the most popular Japanese TV series both in and outside Japan in history. (FYI: Oshin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Thirdly, there is an Onsen inn run by a California-born Okami, landlady. (FYI: Ginzan Hot Spring Fujiya inn) This inn, however, is extremely expensive, so I stayed another inn this time.
I was touched by heart-warming services. When I left the inn, a hotel staff waved her hand until our bus passed out of view. If you are fed up with tourist destination Onsens, I recommend you to visit Ginzan.
By the way, dinner at the inn was fantastic. That’s the highlight of the Onsen trip, isn’t it?

Recently I read a lot of business books. Marketing, Accounting, Intellectual properties, CSR, BSC, Internet/web business etc. As a matter of fact, I have plenty of commuting time, 40-50 mins a day. The good thing is that I’ve got a feeling I have become intelligent and the bad thing is that the feeling will be an illusion as is the way with me.
Now I’m reading a good book about branding. Branding is one of the areas I haven’t understood well yet. It’s been elusive and hard to picture. But this book enlightens me and I think I got something.
Oh I’ve found another good thing about reading. You probably look good when you read a decent book on a train. You shouldn’t play video games, Nintendo DS sort of thing, or read a comic book in public if you are over 30…

Night Sensoji
"
It is good to visit Senso-ji at night. Not as crowded as in the afternoon.

I have begun golf and I took the first golf lesson yesterday. The course includes 10 modules, each of which is 90 mins. It is designed for beginners like me, starting from grip, posture and aiming.
The teacher said there are four types of swings in Golf, namely full shot, pitch shot, chip shot and putting. It seems full shot is the most difficult and beginners often make an air shot. The thing is form of swing is consistent at each different types of the shots, so you should start with easier ones, chip shot and putting, and then apply basic skills to more difficult ones, full shot and pitch shot. This is why I did the chip shot and putting yesterday. Well, it was not exhilarating but necessary for the next step.
Assuming all goes well, I will be playing at golf courses in a few months time. Hope I can make it.

I visited Takayama, a hill town in Gifu, Japan, on New Year’s day. Actually I’d been born nearby but I hadn’t been there for some reason. You know, local people hesitate to sightsee in their hometown.
There was snow in the city, making it a picture-perfect winter scene of Japan’s countryside. I would say this is what beauty stands for.
Anyway, I’ve spent an ideal short vacation in my hometown and I’m now ready to start working. (You can have a relatively long off around New Year’s day in Japan.)

Jindaiji
"
Winter has almost come, but you can still enjoy autumn. Today I walked around Jindaiji, a Buddhism temple in a peaceful suburb of Tokyo, with friends.
