Kamameshi

Kamameshi at Tagoto

I had a decent Kamameshi, a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot, this evening. Kamameshi is usually soy sauce based, but the one I had today was salt based. That was really nice.

Although Asakusa is one of the most popular tourist destinations, it has some cool restaurant only known by the locals.

FYI:
Restaurant name: Tagoto (田毎)
Add: 3-27-3 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo
Tel: 03 3874 3253

I had fugu with my Malaysian friend today. It seems it is called balloon fish or globefish in English. It tastes bland and goes with ponzu sauce.

This is definitely something you must try when you visit Japan.
